Coffee took root in India centuries ago. Legend has it that Sufi monk Baba Budan smuggled 7 coffee beans into India, hiding them in his beard.

And today, the Indian coffee scene is thriving. You’ll find beans grown in Chikmagalur (where our aforementioned monk is said to have planted his smuggled wares) and roasted in Gurgaon, Mumbai and Bangalore.
