Wah Tea
Sometimes the most valuable knowledge is handed down the generations - and Wah Tea is a shining example. With six decades of tea legacy, the estate is now tended to by the experienced hands of third and fourth generation of tea planters, the Prakash family.
They remain steadfast in their commitment to using traditional methods, with machinery dating back to the early 1900s. Elevated at 4000 ft in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, their plantation reaps the benefits of perfect sunshine and rainfall conditions, ensuring their bushes have thrived for a century.
Before the pour
“Having stayed at Surya and Upasana’s 100% eco-friendly lodge, we can say with certainty that Wah’s reverence for their surroundings runs through everything they do. The tea tours across their vast plantation (the largest in the Kangra valley) showcase the impressive array of botanicals and wildlife that thrive among the fields of tea. While the care put into producing the teas – from plucking the leaves by hand, to the natural flavourings – can be tasted in every sip.”
