Araku Coffee
With a name taken from the Araku Valley in Andhra Pradesh, ARAKU Coffee pride themselves on three Ts: traceability, transparency and trust (a trio of attributes we can certainly get behind). Their Arakunomics philosophy takes a decentralised approach to farming that not only looks after the environment but places profits in the hands of the farmers.
The 19 step seed-to-cup journey centres on regenerative agricultural processes, with a patented ‘secret sauce’ that enriches and nourishes the soil in the world’s largest certified organic plantation in the Eastern Ghats of India.
Before the pour
“We learnt a huge amount at our meeting with ARAKU, not least that there was a valley in the Eastern Ghats that produced coffee – which was news to us! We were struck by their dedication to caring as much for the people and the land as they do for their coffees. After meeting with Sanskriti and Sumanth in Bangalore and sampling their array of small batch coffees, we felt sure that ARAKU’s exemplary coffees fit perfectly into our emporium.”
