It’s International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day this month, so we’re having a look at some wines - and teas - that have been made by women, all available on Maharaja Drinks.
Firstly, we’ve got the pineapple wine from Rhythm Winery, owned and run by Vidita Mungi.

You’ve got the juice of the Queen‘s variety of pineapple from Kerala, which is then added to a base wine made from Chenin Blanc grapes.
This creates an off-dry fruit wine, which is best served between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius. Such a juicy and refreshing sipper!
Next, we’ve got the Reveilo Late Harvest Chenin Blanc, owned by Kiran Patil and her husband, Yatin.

It’s a 15% ABV dessert wine, best served chilled.
On the nose, there are notes of honey and scorched almonds, while dried apricots, figs and walnut skin come through to the palate.
We’ve been told this goes extremely well with anything chocolatey and we can see why.
This would be perfect for Mother’s Day with a box of chocolates.
Then, we’ve got a couple of loose leaf teas.
The Nilgiri Bamboo Green Tea is from the woman-run Tea N Teas, where Muskan Khanna is at the helm.

Muskan actually received a patent for her pioneering process, as well as being recognised as Innovator of the Year.
The Glenburn Darjeeling First Flush is the perfect cuppa to welcome spring, with notes of citrus flowers and peach.
Glenburn focuses on local employment, with 350 women from eight local villages in charge of plucking the fresh leaves every day.
