"Indian wine is on the rise. And I'm not surprised, because the quality is absolutely there."

Those were the words used to introduce two Indian wines that featured on Celebration Kitchen (a special edition of the show for Diwali 2025)

We’re still riding the high of seeing not one, but TWO of our Indian wine producers featured on the BBC. The show's esteemed wine expert Olly Smith chose two Indian-crafted wines to pair with the festive Indian dishes made on the show.

Charosa Chenin Blanc with Dahi Puri Chaat

Chef and Masterchef 2018 finalist Nisha Parmar put together a vibrant Dahi Puri Chaat which had us wishing we could reach through the screen to take a bite. Olly paired this with the Charosa Chenin Blanc, which he described as "wonderful, bright and refreshing".

Rhythm Alphonso Mango Wine with Paneer

Next, recipe developer and creator Seema Pankhania whipped up a pair of paneer dishes - spring rolls and chilli paneer. For this, Olly put forward the Rhythm Winery Alphonso Mango wine, which he described as "completely extraordinary". The gasps of wonder in the studio as they smelt the fruity aromas, followed by the affirmative nods upon the first sip was backed up by Olly's review - "enormously fruity, beautifully textured and exactly what you want with the spice."
